Today, I’ll write about another eyeshadow palette. Recently, I made my first order from the BH Cosmetics web page and I ordered three palettes, and today I’m going to type a review about the one I wanted the most, and that is the Club Tropicana palette.
The packaging for this palette is simple, plastic, transparent, see-through with two palms. This look really reminds me of summer and you can easily see all the beautiful happy colors that are in this palette even from the outside, thanks to the transparent packaging. I think this plastic packaging isn’t too solid and it opens hard which is getting on my nerves a bit. The palette contains 28 eyeshadows, it weighs 33 grams and its price is 12.50 €. BH Cosmetics ships worldwide and they often have various discounts and your package will arrive within 15 work days.
So, this palette contains 28 eyeshadows and each one is shimmer. There aren’t any matte eyeshadows and I specifically wanted one palette like this because I’m tired of everything that’s matte. And with all the matte palettes I own, I really needed some shimmer in my collection. I don’t think this palette is useful to do your entire look, I don’t like it too much when all the colors on my eye contain shimmer, but maybe some among you like it. Therefore, this palette is, to me, ideal to combine with the Nyx Ultimate Brights or BH Cosmetics Take me to Brazil palette.
The pigmentation level of these eyeshadows is good, some of them are higher pigmented while some of them are lower in pigmentation level. When you’re doing the swatches on your arm, they’re going to look higher pigmented than when you’re doing it on your eyelid, but to me this is enough. On the photos, you’re going to exactly see which ones among them are better and which one lesser pigmented. These eyeshadows are soft and they blend together nicely, but they’re also partially powdery, not in the way the matte eyeshadows are, so they’re also not chalky. So, my recommendation would be to first work on the makeup on your eyes and then on your face, or, in case, you’re doing it reverse, first apply facial powder under your eyes so you don’t get everything smudged. Another way to do it is to spray the brush with some primer and you’ll get wonderful results.
Regarding the permanence, I really don’t have any trouble even with the cheapest eyeshadows because I always use the eyeshadow base and they last through the whole day without any trouble, at the end of the day they still look the same as they did the moment I applied them. It’s the same with these eyeshadows.
The thing that bothers me a bit with this palette is the fact that they repeated couple of the colors. For example, there are 4 similar, if not even the same, pink-peachy shades. The same thing is with the blue shades. For everything else, I really think this palette has wonderful colors with which you can be very creative.
I didn’t describe every color on its own because they don’t have names, but I think the swatches are true to the real thing and you can also look on my Instagram profile on some of the looks I’ve combined with them. I like this palette a lot and I only found a couple small things I didn’t like about it. Like I already mentioned, I think it would be good to have a couple of matte colors on the side to complete the looks if you’re using this palette, because like I said before, I think it would be a bit too much to use only these colors, but if you like it that way, then I don’t see why not. I also think, the price for this amount is more than ok, so this is for sure another plus. Everything summed up, I’m more than satisfied and from the three palettes I ordered, this is my favorite one. And since I got it, there wasn’t a single day I haven’t used it 😊
